The Institute of Social Sciences (ISS) and Dibrugarh University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 12 January 2026 to promote academic collaboration and joint initiatives in areas of mutual interest, with a special focus on Northeastern India.
Under this partnership, the two institutions will jointly plan and organize academic seminars and workshops, host and mentor interns, and undertake collaborative research and action-oriented programmes. The collaboration aims to strengthen knowledge exchange, build young professionals, and contribute to evidence-based interventions in the region.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Paramananda Sonowal Registrar of Dibrugarh University and Mr. Manoj Rai, Director and CEO of the Institute of Social Sciences. The signing took place in the presence of Dr. Dibyajyoti Dutta from Dibrugarh University, and Prof. Rumki Basu and Dr. Dinoo Mathew from the Institute of Social Sciences.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to making this partnership meaningful and impactful through sustained academic engagement, field-based learning, and joint research initiatives that respond to the social, economic, and developmental challenges of Northeastern India.
